Veterans Alternative Receives Grant Award from Disabled Veterans National Foundation

Veterans Alternative is honored to announce it has received a grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) for $14,000 which will provide funding for additional Warriors to receive sessions of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is an evidence-based therapy shown to achieve benefits more rapidly than traditional therapies, with positive results seen in 1-5 sessions. The therapy works directly to reprogram the way distressing memories and images are stored in the brain, so they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions.

Brian Anderson (Former Green Beret), Chief Executive Officer of Veterans Alternative said, “It is an honor to partner with a like-minded organization such as the Disabled Veterans National Foundation. Their support allows Veterans Alternative to provide additional Warriors from across the United States with life-saving mental health services”.

Joseph VanFonda (USMC Sgt.Maj. Ret.), CEO of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation said, “We’re extremely pleased to assist Veterans Alternative with this important service to our community. The program assists veterans who are currently suffering from mental health challenges to have a more stable and productive life. We expect our grant to increase the number of disabled veterans who participate”.

About the Disabled Veterans National Foundation:

Disabled Veterans National Foundation exists to provide critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans who leave the military wounded—physically or psychologically—after defending our safety and our freedom. DVNF achieves this mission by:

• Offering direct financial support to veteran organizations that address the unique needs of veterans, and whose missions align with that of DVNF.

• Providing supplemental assistance to homeless and low-income veterans through the Health & Comfort program and various empowerment resources.

• Providing an online resource database that allows veterans to navigate the complex process of seeking benefits that they are entitled to as a result of their military service, as well as additional resources they need.

• Serving as a thought leader on critical policy issues within the veteran community and educating the public accordingly.

About Veterans Alternative:

The mission of Veterans Alternative is to empower Veterans through effective alternative therapies and community engagement. Based on three pillars of well-being: health, connection, and resilience, our programs and services help establish a healthy, connected and resilient past and present military population. The first pillar of health focuses on providing Warriors with services to promote sound physical, mental and emotional health to live an empowered life. The second pillar of connectedness emphasizes the need for Warriors to build meaningful relationships with their family and peers to establish strong connections and avoid isolation. The final pillar of resilience equips Warriors with the skills, techniques and resources they need to strengthen their resiliency and live a better quality of life.
